KATZ IMPORTS · OUR STORY
It all started as gold buyers.
Before Katz Imports became a resource for diamonds, custom jewelry, watches and repairs, Todd and Howard Katz started by buying gold.
Those early days built the foundation for a family business established in 1979—one that would grow through decades of experience, industry relationships and clients who kept coming back.
Today, Todd, Howard and Zack carry that story forward on Philadelphia’s historic Jewelers’ Row.

FROM GOLD BUYERS TO DIAMOND WHOLESALERS.
From gold buying to diamond wholesale.
By the 1980s, Todd and Howard had expanded into diamond wholesale, building relationships from Philadelphia to New York City and Antwerp, Belgium.
Katz Imports grew into a wholesale supplier of diamonds and fine jewelry to the trade. Those years sharpened our eye for quality and value—and built the sourcing relationships we still draw on today.
When you ask us to find a particular stone or piece of jewelry, decades of connections come with that conversation.
DECADES OF RELATIONSHIPS.
Our home on Jewelers’ Row.
Katz Imports was originally located at 740 Sansom Street in the Neff Building, also known as the Jewelry Trades Building—a longtime home to jewelry makers and craftspeople.
In 1993, we moved to 723 Sansom Street, where you’ll find us today.
Being part of this community keeps us close to the craftsmen who help bring your projects to life, from custom design and casting to stone setting, finishing and watch repair.
The business has evolved. The relationships endure.
Today, Todd, Howard and Zack bring generations of experience to a private, by-appointment jewelry business.
You might come to Katz Imports for an engagement ring, a repair, a watch or help with inherited jewelry. Our goal is the same: understand what you need, give you our full attention and become the family you call whenever jewelry comes up.
And after all these years, we still buy gold.
